I have been a political activist most of my adult life, volunteering as an advocate for women and children's issues at the ND Legislature for several sessions; held several offices in the League of women voters in ND and Ohio; and serving on the board of Bridging the Dental Gap to establish a dental clinic for the 24,000+ residents of Bismarck/Mandan who cannot access dental care. Now retired, my professional life included many years in the business world, as a public school teacher, and as a writer/photographer, editing the Greeter Magazine in Bismarck, and working in retirement as a freelance writer/photographer. platform statement: Simply put, I view the state treasurer as the keeper of the people's checkbook, and the eyes, ears, and heart of the people on various boards and committees that invest the people's savings, certify elections, equalize taxes, protect university and school lands, and much more.
I plan to raise the visibility of this office by advocating for lower taxes and fees, more funding for education, more investment of surplus dollars in maintaining roads and bridges, and more. web site: http://www.mitchvance.com
